Operation Martlet House Rules

Image
House Rules  These are the house rules/advanced rules we use in the campaign. Two AVsRE? Now that's not proper cricket! Time for Jerry to fall back or suffer the consequences. 9. Infantry Fire 9.2 Hand grenades Hand grenades against trenches If the total rolled is greater than the range in inches, the target unit takes 2 hits as if in Light Cover.  If it's still greater after subtracting 4, the target instead takes 3 hits with no cover. 10. Support Weapons Fire 10.3 Off-Table Mortars The off table mortar battery is too predictable.  Every time a battery is activated in accordance with Step 3 (10.3), after shifting the aiming point roll a D6. Add +2 if the Observer does not have line of sight to the new aiming point.  On a roll of 1 or 2 the aiming point stays in place. On a roll of 3, 4 or 5 it deviates 1D6 inches as in Step Two On a roll of 6 it deviates 2D6 inches. On a roll of 7+ it deviates 3D6 inches. 17. The German forces are from the 12th SS. The infantry sections are quite depleted so each platoon is reinforced with a Panzer IV to compensate.  The Germans have two platoons. The first platoon will defend Fontenay as log as it is able. As soon as the Germans abandon Fontenay (tables 1-3) a new, identical, platoon takes over (tables 4-6). Operation Martlet British Forces

Image
The campaign consists of two parts - the securing of the road through Fontenay and the push to Rauray. The 11th Scots Fusiliers are leading the attack for the first part and will be switched out for the 7th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment for the later part. Each will be represented by a British rifle platoon. When the 1st platoon is no longer able to continue it will be switched out for the 2nd platoon. I have started this blog for two reasons.  One is to chronicle my gaming in a more structured manner. Previously I have done some Twitter threads from some of our campaign games. Nothing wrong with that, but it is hard to find old posts, hard to link to them and not everyone uses Twitter.   Here are some example in-game pictures   Some scots facing of some germans in the "Scottish Corridor" campaign Table layout from a game in the Operation Martlet campaign  The second reason is as an online hobby diary for various projects. Both as a way of seeing progress and to make it easier to find notes on how things where done, paint recipes, etc.   Converting some Warlord Games Italians for use as WW2 Swedish
